Cúchulainn
in Bakersfield (DNL)
Cúchulainn
in Bakersfield (DNL): Ireland's Achiles meets DNL in California's hottest dustiest oil town. A studio version
is on his "Rivers, Kings and Curses" CD. In this live performance, Jill Egland (of Banshee in the Kitchen) plays
the ultimate honky-tonk accordion solo. Video is from a rough cut of Howard Galloway's "From the Ordinary: a Far
Cry," a video-documentary about Egland and Lloyd's first performance as a Far Cry at the Spotlight Theater in Bakersfield. My Rage at Another Who Silenced Me (DNL)
Introduced by Jill Egland of Banshee in the Kitchen, DNL performed this song from "Rivers, Kings and Curses" at the Spotlight Theatre in Bakersfield, CA in May 2006. From the rough cut from Howard Galloway's "From the Ordinary: a Far Cry."

"Brief Poem" (DNL). Tips of the hat to Martin Carthy, Sandy Denny, Fairport Convention and Pentangle. Jill Egland,
of Banshee in the Kitchen, accompanies on accordion. Live at Kulak's Woodshed in North Hollywood in 2007, this was their
last performance as the duo, a Far Cry. On the
Trail of Tears (trad/DNL)
On the Trail of Tears (trad/DNL): DNL's delight as a nine -year-old immigrant contrasts with the Indian removals of the early nineteenth century. How old is this tune we now associate with the Easter Rising? Could Andrew Jackson or Chief John Ross of the Cherokee have known it? Both had Celtic ancestry. The song is from DNL's CD, How Like Ghosts Are We [Video by Spike Stweart]
