Jill Egland wrangled fellow Banshee (in the Kitchen) Brenda Hunter and me into performing for a John Kerry benefit with her. This was on September 5th. Jill strung together some great traditional tunes which led into and out of my songs in a most interesting way. Especially since they are such wonderful players!

Helen Acosta (whose husband is indeed Enrique Acosta, the Action Folk Singer) produced the fundraiser. As she was about to introduce us, Jill made up the name Davy and the Furies. Next Day, I remembered that my daughter had been applying the Welsh nickname Daffy to me. Hence: Daffy and the Furies.

If Kerry looses, it isn't our fault.
