To me, sung poetry is a surviving residual of the musical revolution of the 1960s. Such poems often take on the form of author-less traditional songs — and they can be as fine musically as lyrically. To distinguish them from the majority of dreck heard on electronic media today, I call them song poems and their makers song poets.

Song poems demand to be taken hook, line and sinker. And who wants to do that? Besides me that is? Come on in the water's FINE.
